GOODBYE AGAIN

It is just too hard to keep up with this anymore. I had fun in Oct. and Dec. But with a a job, a family, and an addiction to movies I just don't have the time to continue this. Sorry. Thanks for visiting.

Here are the worst films of 2008 (there is no order to this list)

§ 10,000 B.C. – I saw it so long ago I don’t remember much about it. I do remember it was painfully bad
§ The Happening – If I did a list 1 to 10, this would have been number 1. I am big defender of M. Night. Not this time.
§ Meet Dave – Please stop making shitty movies Eddie Murphy. You were a comic god once.
§ Mamma Mia! – I love musicals and I kind of like Abba. This movie was very painful for me to watch.
§ The X-Files: I Want to Believe – I am a fan of the show. This movie was just boring and not up to snuff.
§ The Mummy 3 – I got 4 words for you. FIELD GOAL KICKING YETIS.
§ Hell Ride – So 1994.
§ Mirrors – I get no 24 this year but I get this. That is not an even trade.
§ College – Might be the worst comedy since Freddy Got Fingered. And I laughed at parts of Freddy.
§ Twilight – I know people love this movie and god bless them. I wasn’t the demographic and I hated the rape of the vampire mythos.
§ Four Christmases – Mean spirited and unfunny.
§ The Spirit – I get it, it was campy but did it have to be bad too.

Here are my favorite films of 2008 (there is no order to this list)

§ In Bruges – Very Un-PC but very funny. Colin Ferrell proves he can act.
§ Leatherheads – I am a huge mark for Clooney and this homage to screwball comedies was pure delight for me.
§ Forgetting Sara Marshall – Just a great year for comedies and this is my second favorite Judd Apatow Crew film. Number one being Virgin.
§ Iron Man - The best popcorn movie of the year. And the second best comic book movie of all time. (See below)
§ Son of Rambow – This film took me back to my youth and filming movies in my backyard. Just a sweet funny film.
§ Redbelt – I LOVE Chiwetel Ejiofor. This film cemented the man-crush.
§ Wall-E – Just a beautiful film that brings a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. It will be a sad day when Pixar makes a bad movie.
§ The Dark Knight – Like you need an explanation. If I did a list this probably be number one.
§ Tropic Thunder – By far the best comedy of the year. This quickly shot to the top of my favorite comedies of all time.
§ Ghost Town – I am a huge Ricky Gervias mark. He took a tired cliché of a plot and made it fresh and funny.
§ Role Models – The second best comedy of the year. Paul Rudd is a comic god.
§ Dear Zachary … - This movie made me cry like a schoolgirl with a skinned knee. It is a punch in the gut documentary that will never leave you.
§ Let the Right One In – The good vampire movie. I mean the great vampire movie. It took a tired genre and made it pertinent again.
§ The Wrestler – Wow, Mickey Rourke’s performance alone is the reason to see this. The movie is pretty great too.
§ The Curious Case of Benjamin Button – I know it has its flaws but this was one of the best-made films of 2008. But not my favorite.
§ Man on Wire – The best documentary I have seen since Super Size Me.
